Dr. Adaeze Obiechina is a distinguished academic and social entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in education policy and international development. She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Cambridge and has led transformative programmes across sub-Saharan Africa.
Vice Chair
Professor Emmanuel Chukwu is a renowned chemist and academic leader with appointments at leading UK and African universities. He has pioneered research collaborations between European and African institutions and is a passionate advocate for STEM education across the continent.
Treasurer
Ngozi Adeleke brings extensive expertise in financial management and charitable governance. With a background in international finance and over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, she ensures AODI's financial integrity and sustainable operations.

Dr. Kwame Asante is a public health expert and international development consultant. He has worked with leading organisations including the World Health Organization and USAID, and brings a deep commitment to equitable access to education and opportunity in Africa.

Executive Director & Founder
Dr. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo founded AODI with a vision to transform the educational landscape across Africa through mentorship, partnership, and leadership development. With a doctorate from the University of Oxford and decades of experience spanning academia, policy, and civil society, he has dedicated his career to unlocking the potential of African youth. Under his leadership, AODI has grown from a grassroots initiative into a UK-registered NGO impacting thousands of young people across 13 African countries.
The Executive Director serves on the Board as a non-voting member to support alignment between governance and operations.
